About Us

Local Merchant Services (LMS), was established in 2017, and operates and manages a network of over 200 Regional and Vertical Trade Gateways across the globe. Supply Chains have operated in pretty much the same way for the last 200 years. LMS is co-operating with different major Institutions to establish a modern Digital Trade ecosystem.

LMS Trade Gateways, feature significant B2B Marketplaces, operated in partnership with significant partners. LMS provides Tools to Digitize accruing Trade.

LMS can be your technology partner. Contact us for more information. We also provide a range of innovative Services. More details on some of these services below.

Following Brexit, the UK can strike its own deals for buying and selling goods and services around the world. A Trade Agreement facilitates trade - usually in goods but sometimes in services too - by making it cheaper.

While the UK was an EU member, it was automatically part of around 40 trade deals which the EU had struck with more than 70 countries. Post Brexit, however, there is a need for the UK to be able to access markets that the UK has its own deals with. Trade Gateways are required for this to happen effectively. LMS operates Brexit.Trade as such a Trade Gateway. Trade Digitization can help address many Post Brexit Trade issues

Trade Digitization Infrastructure

LMS is paving the way to provide an infrastructure to facilitate the exchange of digital trade documents across our Trade Gateways. All Contracting parties are members of the relevant Trade Gateway, and as such, are a closed Group of parties engaging in Trade. As such, in accruing transactions, electronic documents are created under multi-party contracts, between a closed group of parties engaged in trade, that agree to recognise them as having the same qualities as paper documents. LMS also Operates MLETR.com

This addresses the “possession issue” with Trade Documents. The Parties agree that the electronic trade documents, will have the same legal function as their paper equivalents.

Local Web

Local Merchant Services also operate High Traffic Local Web Sites where subscribers can subscribe to offers from Merchants. Subscription to these sites by subscribers is to a centralized Subscriber Web Programme that complies with GDPR. Subscription to the different Local Merchant Services sites is made to a centralized User Data Repository (UDR).

Local Merchant Services sites can then access the data from the shared register. The result is a central register from which subscribers can be provided with special offers and services by participating merchants from a single point in a manner compliant with GDPR. This is the LMS Subscriber Web to which there are currently over 2 million subscribers.

Blockchain is removing barriers of trade, which can lead to more than US$ 1 trillion of new trade in the next decade. Blockchain can greatly facilitate Paperless Trade. Applications of Blockchain in cross border trade include:

Trade Finance: The complexity and scale of existing procedures in trade finance have meant that many organizations that require Trade Finance, particularly SME's have not been able to access Trade Finance. Blockchain can greatly help with addressing these issues and make Trade Finance faster, more accessible, and secure

Taking control of border procedures for trade: Blockchain with smart contracts can enable users to complete customs procedures efficiently and securely.

Time and Cost Savings: Blockchain can greatly reducing the time and expense of cross border trade procedures
